How Can I Get This CD?

I wasn't sure what to expect from a band with a name like MOOK but I got my head immediately flattened by this EP of extremely lead heavy, lowtuned guitars, gruff vocals that sound like a cross between Lemmy, Henry Rollins and old Hetfield, rumbling basslines and steadily pounding drumwork. "Listen With Motherfucker" is a pure Heavy Metal release that I consider timeless as this could have been recorded in the 60's 70's or whenever. The roots are based on Heavy Metal obviously but the band also head towards Stoner and Doom realms. This is a release that you can really bite into with the awesomely thick riffs and tons of attitude. It certainly gave my neck quite a workout during the four songs! HIGH IN FIRE mostly comes to mind when thinking of comparisons but also parallels to the mighty BLACK SABBATH are certainly there. This is addictive music and I highly recommend checking these guys out! All four songs are recommended listening.

MOOK - Listen With Motherfucker
Some chugging, groovy rock here. Almost Sabbath-esque in it's delivery in parts, funky and upbeat in others. Nice production helps the highly impressive vocals come across strong and clear. The whole CD is played very well. 'N.H.F.B' particularly starts off really well, but retains the same groovy head-nodding tempo throughout. Things improve, however, on 'Too Far Gone', which is a superb track. It flows from cool funkyness to an explosive chorus which you can't help but nod your head to. Thankfully they keep things moving along nicely with the final, and easily the best track, 'Monster#1', which demonstrates Mook's ability to write good riffs admirably.
This is a band full of talent, who could easily reach a high level of success, they just need that special 'something' to push them up to it.
